The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced that the recent power outage in its service area is due to a grid collapse.

Abuja, July 6, 2024 (NAN) – The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has identified a grid collapse as the cause of the ongoing power outage in its service region.

In a statement released on Saturday, AEDC management addressed the issue.

“Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced in our service area is due to a failure in the national grid system,” the statement read.

According to AEDC, the grid failure occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. today, impacting power supply across its service area.

“Rest assured, we are collaborating with relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon as the grid is stabilized,” the statement concluded. (NAN)
